NORTHERN & SOUTHERN DIVISION

4 tournaments each division with a Championship


You asked for it, finally a tournament series for the “WEEKEND WARRIOR” or Mom and Pop teams that is affordable. All of our tournaments will have a recommended $100, max $150 entry fee with Calcutta available. We will have an Association Championship that will alternate between the North and South Division. This, our first season, will hold the Championship Tournament in Morehead City. Next season the Championship will be held in the Southport / Holden Beach / Brunswick County area pending site approval. All of our tournament will have boundaries and lines in water time to make it fair for all boat sizes and all skill levels announced at the registration and captain’s meeting. Any boat fishing this trail must have a minimum of one Association member on board. Membership cost will be $30 per person or $40 for a Family membership per year. We encourage all persons on board to be members but it is not mandatory except for the Championship. You must fish a minimum of 2 tournaments in either division to qualify to fish the Association Championship Tournament. All anglers fishing the Championship must be Association members. We will have an end of year, big fish fund for each division.. The points will be posted on the website ASAP when the tournament concludes and the tournament director logs all weights in with the website. We as the boards of directors are asking that anyone interested in hosting a tournament contact us and we encourage each member to do so. This tournament series will be more about the bragging rights than one of winning a lot of money. The Board also encourages tournament directors to make a 10% of total purse money donation to the charity, or benefactor.


This series was developed for anglers who due to the economy do not wish to travel as much and can fish in their own communities for the most part. It will also benefit the local economy and we encourage our anglers to shop with our local tournament trail sponsors and vendors, purchase tackle fuel etc in the local community and venue that hosts our events. We will not plan any of our tournaments during another tournament weekend, nor do we want to compete or piggy back on any other tournaments, many of us also fish those events and plan to continue to do so. It should be understood by all competitors that should weather force either our tournament or any other tournament to reschedule would be the only time we would be forced to fish on the same weekend or day as another tournament. In the event that happens the board would have final authority as to reschedule, cancel, or postpone reducing as much possibility to overlap on others.



Calcutta format will be at the discretion of the individual tournament directors but will be announced at the registration as to the format. TD’s will be allowed to hold a retainer from the Calcutta, announced in advance, to help to offset tournament costs, at a maximum of 15%.



It is our hope that we will see enough participation in this new exciting trail to expand to SC for next season and have some friendly competition across state lines. This is an exiting new series and we welcome your thoughts, ideas and input to any one of the board of directors.
